When Meal Prepping Goes Wrong

A bad loaf of bread

In my first article about meal prepping, Meal Prepping for the work week I talked about using the day to spend together with your family, sharing the enjoyment of cooking. Well sometimes meal prepping can go wrong if you completely ignore the key word in the phrase itself, prepping. Such is the case that happened to me yesterday when I went to film my video for my YouTube Channel, The Keto Traveler 94 UCRqCwxd-onnYC6xYoMhChig. In order to have a successful meal prepping day, you must first prep for your meal prep. I tend to not follow my own advice sometimes.

I had the meals all planned out and the recipes marked that I wanted to film and share with my viewers. The groceries were purchased for the ingredients I was going to use to make my meals. My camera was set up and ready to film, tripod and all, and I had the lighting set to where my prep area would show up well in the video. I was ready to go full steam ahead, and I did at first. I started with a simple Cloud Bread recipe that I use to make sandwiches for myself. It’s a simple four-ingredient recipe that I got from ruled.me. It’s tasty and I really enjoy making it. That recipe and filming went off without a hitch, well there were some bloopers along the way, but those are always fun.

So Where Did I Go Wrong

In spite of my best efforts to film a successful prepping day, I made one major flaw. The video Speaks for itself. I just tend to forget to follow my own advice. I’m a work-in-progress as some people like to say.

Thankfully I was able to have a good laugh from it and just decided to use this as another learning curve on this amazing journey that has forever changed my life. It’s important that we remain patient with ourselves and understand that when we change our way of eating, cooking, and prepping, or we are just new to it all, that we give ourselves time to get used to a routine.

What Can I Do To Avoid This Mistake Again

It’s always sunny above the clouds

Learn to follow my own advice and plan my prep day. I’ve watched many videos on YouTube and I’ve visited several Keto websites. One of the sites I really enjoy is ketofocus.com. I have found good tips by researching and learning from others. I also try not to take myself too seriously. My best advice to myself and to others is to take this journey one day at a time. Celebrate your successes and laugh at your mistakes. Embrace becoming the person you want to be. I have, and it has changed my life forever.
