Sacramento California

The Capitol City

Sacramento, California is the Capitol City of the state. There are so many things to experience and enjoy in this small town/big city destination. With the weather being perfect for the day, I knew I had to venture out and see the sites of the city. I ended up doing more than I had expected, and I enjoyed every minute of my journey. Palm Tree lined streets, beautiful, landscaped grounds of the Capitol and a nice breeze blowing, all made for a memorable experience.

Downtown Sacramento

From the heart of downtown, the Capitol is just around a 10 minute walk. Along the way there are so many architectural gems to enjoy that the minutes fly by. The grounds of the Capitol are perfectly manicured, and the buildings make a profound statement of rich history and pride. The rotunda of the Capitol is visible in the skyline of the buildings for miles and is even more breathtaking up close. The park setting around the Capitol is serene and peaceful, almost as if it had an invisible barrier around it. It’s a beautiful place to just sit, relax and reminisce. You can check out the city’s website here: https://www.cityofsacramento.org/ for more information.

Old Sacramento

Old Sacramento

Don’t let the name fool you at all. Old Sacramento is a great place to come and souvenir shop, eat and spend the day. There are boutique shops, candy and ice cream shops, vintage arcades, antique stores and so much more. You can dine on a docked river boat and enjoy street performers as well. For all the sites and attractions visit their website at: https://www.oldsacramento.com/.

Keeping It Keto

Steak Salad Enjoyed at Brannan Manor

There are many places to eat in downtown Sacramento and in Old Sacramento as well. With the variety of options I found it easy to maintain my ketogenic lifestyle. I decided to stop and eat at Brannan Manor and enjoy a Steak Salad. I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is that of a bar/restaurant feel and they seem to have a haunted theme going on. The waitstaff was very courteous and accommodating. Brannan Manor was featured on the television series, “Bar Rescue” and it seems to have helped it gain in popularity. There was just so much to take in and see. I was able to capture a lot on my camera and have a video posted to my YouTube site if you would like to see more. Just go to https://youtu.be/T2lWMZoMAJg. For my other travel videos go to https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRqCwxd-onnYC6xYoMhChig.
